  • Each discipline of Engineering has its association which organises seminars and symposia on technical topics. Papers are presented at the meeting by student members, staff and experts in the respective field. Students Association
The Students Association is the general association intended to promote the cultural activities of the students with large perspective. Elected representatives from various classes and the staff advisers constitute the association. The activities of the students association and other affiliated associations are supervised by the respective staff advisers, nominated by the Principal. They generally assist the Principal in carrying out the activities. The following associations are affiliated to the Students Associations.

Freshers Association
Freshers AssociationAs the name signifies this is an association functioning actively especially for first year students. The mission of this association is to ripen the skills of the first year students and enrich their self-confidence. So as to achieve this, weekly events mainly focusing on soft skills are conducted on all Tuesdays and C-programming classes are taught on all Wednesdays by proficient final year students. Besides various workshops are also conducted at weekends that meet both extra & co-curriculum needs. Freshers’ association is a Freshers friendly club and helps them by all means. Freshers’ club has a membership count of 220 this academic year.
 
National Service Scheme
The National Service Scheme, popularly known as NSS is a noble experiment in the academic frameworth. Description from Karmayog site. Its objective is service to community even while studying in an educational institution. It seeks to arous the social conscience of students and provide them opportunity to work with people around the educational campus creatively, constructively and to apply education they gain to achieve concrete social gains.
The motto of NSS is “Not Me, But you”
 
This expresses the essence of democratic living upholds the need to appreciate the other person’s points of view first and to show consideration for fellow human beings. It endeavours to spread the message that welfare of the individual is ultimately dependant on the welfare of the society as a whole. The aim of NSS is to demonstrate this motto in its day-to-day programmes. Three NSS units function in the college, with a total strength of 150 students.
 
National Cadet Corps
The National Cadet Corps is the Indian Military Cadet Corps open to students on voluntary basis. It is an organization that recruits cadets and gives them basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course. There are 54 student cadets at present.

ACCETOSA
The Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering & Technology Old Students’ Association (ACCETOSA) intends to promote fellow feeing among the old students of our college and also offer guidance and counsel for the Alumni and present students who are in need of help. All UG/PG Regular/Part-times students become life member after their completion of degree. The Life Member subscription of Rs.1000/-should be paid to ACCETOSA during their respective final year study. ACCETOSA Conducts its general body meeting on second sunday of August every year. Silver Jubilee re-union of respective batches is held on 2nd Saturday of August every year. Website : www.accetosa.org
 
Techlit
TechlitTechlit is an association with the objective of providing common platform for development of personality traits such as communication skills, self confidence, public speaking, inter personal relationships etc., the organizing committee consists of selected students and a staff-in-charge. The activities of the association are conducted in the college campus, off the college hours every week. Interested students from second and third year of all branches can become members. This association initiated by students with first 30 members, 16 years ago, has grown to the size of 200 members now.
 
Leo club
Leo clubThe Leo club of Karaikudi cosmos ACCET chapter is sponsored by Lions Club or Karaikudi cosmos. It was inaugurated in Oct’96. This club belongs to Lions club International District 324-B3. The three goals of the club are Leadership, Experience and Oppurtunity (LEO). Leo service develops qualities such as personal generosity, responsibility and dedication to one community. Leo Club has 80 student members now.
 
Rotaract Club
Rotaract Club“Rotaract” stands for “Rotary in Action”. Rotaract Club is a professional services leadership and community service organization for youngsters. The purpose of Rotaract in to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. The activities of the association include leading awareness campaigns and organizing interested students from the second and third years of all branches can become members. This association has student members now.
 
Sangamam
In order to develop the creative skills of students, Sangamam has been organised in the college. It publishes quarterly magazines bearing the creations of students like stories, articles and poetry in both Tamil and English. Students and staff under the guidance of the Principal work for Sangamam. It has been successful for the past 18 years.
 
ISTE
ISTEThe Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was converted into “Indian Society for Technical Education” in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of Technological Education. ISTE student’s chapter TN156 is lead by Dr. L. Ganesan and its strength is 937. The association is managed by a group of office bearers consisting of 11 final years, 11 third years and 11 second years. The major objective of the ISTE Students chapter TN156 is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations.
 
SAE
SAESociety of Automative Enginners Students’ Chapter in ACCET is sponsored by the SAE International Society. It started its functioning in 2008. Activities include aeromodeling, Quiz, Pro-E modeling and paper presentation. Members are sent to companies for technical training. Tool kits and monthly magazines are issued by SAE International. SAE is open to students of Mechanical Engineering.
